My work is a continual process of experimentation of different materials that I repurpose into a visual language within each body of work. I work with several different types of materials such as wax, resin, paper, pomegranates, photography, cement, pantyhose, pig bladder, wood and and different fibers. I have begun to make 3-d wombs that vary in size from found materials. I have found that the process of making these wombs has become a meditative act of remembrance.
In my body of work entitled Bearing Witness, I try to reimagine previous memories I’ve had in my life. I then try to create a space where I can reconstruct and repurpose those memories into a fragmented story of emotions, moods and moments that alters my work into something familiar.
Sojourners is a series of images of individuals and family members that immigrated into the US during the twentieth century. I repurposed these images several times through image transfers onto different materials such as fabrics, papers, glass, metal and more.

Using video and photographic processes I examine relationships that develop over a period of time. While focusing on the communal and collaborative aspects of these projects, I consider the role I inhabit as photographer and witness to the lives of others. David & Rosemary explores the relationship between Rosemary, who has been a caregiver for her disabled son, David, for almost four decades. The newest addition to this series has been the abstracted photos of David in the water. These images, that are taken during a time that is most freeing for both David and Rosemary, explore implications of latitude, mobility and synthesis.
